Rob Mayer
Rob and Diane purchased Delaware Pet Cremation in 2008 after their beloved Rottweiler, Wools, died and was cremated at DPC. Losing Wools combined with Rob’s profound experience with the original owners, lead him to a new sense of purpose in his life. “At that moment I had been in another industry for 17 years and I knew I had some greater potential to serve animals and people.” With the opportunity to take over this well-established local business, he would go on to dedicate his life to helping individuals and supporting families with the loss of a beloved pet.
Grateful to have such a committed staff, he is able to convey a larger perspective that honors the depth of the human animal bond, specifically surrounding the loss of a pet. The Animal Soul was born and represents not just a pet cremation service but a deep dedication to helping each family with pre-planning, hospice, in-home euthanasia, and grieving. One of the most meaningful gifts he receives is when people say, “You and your staff helped to take one of the most difficult days in my life and turn it into something beautiful.”
Rob loves to travel, hike, cook, and whitewater raft. Diane and Rob currently share their farm with Anouk and Pontouff, Great Pyrenees-Border Collie sisters, 4 cats- Forest, Harry, Chitza and Miss Peaches, a rooster named Roux, 7 hens who all have names, and an amazing bee colony who provide White Feather Farm with a great sense of community, and deep understanding of life’s interconnected nature.
